October is "National Principals Month", and the students and staff of Marion Seventh Grade Academy would like to take a moment to celebrate the wonderful leader at the heart of 7GA , Mrs. Looney!🎉

Being a principal is so much more than a title. It means wearing many hats, making countless decisions, encouraging students, supporting teachers and staff, celebrating successes, working through challenges, and always keeping the needs of the school at heart.

Mrs. Looney, thank you for the dedication, leadership, and care you bring to 7GA each day. Thank you for believing in our students, supporting our staff, and continuing to push our school toward excellence. Your hard work may not always be seen, but it is certainly appreciated.

We are thankful to have you leading our 7GA family, and we hope you know just how much your commitment to our school community means to all of us.

Students in Ms. Reynolds’ Keyboarding classes put their skills to the test with a friendly typing competition to see who could type the fastest! Each class crowned its own typing champion. Congratulations to our winners, and great job to all of our students who took on the challenge!

Designing with a purpose in STEM! Students in Mrs. C’s STEM classes were given a family scenario and challenged to design a home that would meet that family’s specific needs. Using online design software, students created their homes and then presented their designs to the class, explaining the choices they made along the way. From problem-solving and design to communication and presentation skills, our students put their STEM learning into action! #7GAGrowTogether

There’s nothing like a 7GA Pep Rally! Our students brought the energy, our cheerleaders brought the spirit, and our Patriots had a great time celebrating together! #7GAGrowTogether

Students at the Marion Seventh Grade Academy were treated to a special meal Tuesday, courtesy of visiting chef Danny Saghir. Growing up in a Lebanese family, Chef Danny developed a fascination with cooking at the age of 8, watching his mother and grandmother prepare a wide variety of Middle Eastern dishes. He later earned a degree in Culinary Arts from the Art Institute of Michigan and has amassed more than 25 years of experience working in casinos, hotels, buffets, fine dining, fast casual, and everything in between. He also brings six years of experience preparing food in the K-12 environment.

On Tuesday, students enjoyed a meal of doner kabob rice bowls and a vegetable medley.

ATLAS Interim Testing is Next Week! 7GA students will complete their ATLAS Interim Assessments September 14–17, with testing beginning at 8:00 a.m. each day. Please help your student be ready to do their best by making sure they: • Arrive at school on time • Bring their fully charged Chromebook each day • Get a good night's rest and come ready to show what they know! These assessments give us valuable information about student progress and help us identify areas where students may need additional support or opportunities for growth. We know our students are ready to do their best! #7GAGrowTogether

Congratulations to our September Staff Member of the Month, Mrs. Brownlee! Mrs. Brownlee plays an important role in keeping 7GA running smoothly each day. Whether she is managing the countless details that happen behind the scenes, answering questions, solving problems, or simply stepping in wherever she is needed, she is someone our staff can always count on. Her hard work, dependability, patience, and willingness to help others make a difference throughout our school every single day. So much of what she does may happen behind the scenes, but the impact of her work is felt throughout 7GA. We are incredibly thankful for Mrs. Brownlee and everything she does for our students, staff, and school!

Parent-Teacher Conferences are this Thursday! We look forward to connecting with our 7GA families to celebrate student progress, discuss areas for growth, and work together for a successful school year.

Conferences will be held from 1:00–7:00 p.m. Please note that no conferences will be held from 4:00–4:30 p.m. during the teachers' lunch break.

The SHP Meeting will begin at 5:30 p.m., followed by our Annual Title I Meeting at 6:15 p.m. Both meetings will be held in the 7GA Cafeteria.

We're excited to welcome grandparents and special family members to our 7GA Grandparents Day Celebration!

Join us on Friday, September 11, at 2:00 p.m. in the Marion Seventh Grade Academy Cafeteria for an afternoon of cookies, lemonade, special activities, and quality time with your student as we celebrate the important role grandparents and special family members play in their lives.

Parents: To help us prepare for the celebration, please complete the Grandparents Day RSVP Google Form that was emailed to you by Thursday, September 3.

This week marked our first week of GROWth Period! students began using RTI Scheduler to select sessions designed around their needs and interests. Throughout the week, students participated in academic sessions for extra support and practice as well as enrichment sessions that offered opportunities to explore interests, build skills, and have fun. GROWth Period is all about giving students what they need to learn, grow, and succeed. Take a look at some of our students in action this week! #7GAGrowTogether

Coach Selvy's Arkansas History students took on the role of teacher as they worked in groups to plan and present sections of Chapter 1 to their classmates. By collaborating, summarizing key details, and sharing what they learned, students strengthened both their understanding of the content and their communication skills. #7GAGrowTogether
