The Marion Patriot Pride Band captured its second championship in a row Saturday, taking top honors at the West Memphis Classic.
Competing with 12 other bands from Arkansas and Mississippi, Marion was named the Grand Champion of the larger bands in the event and earned the highest overall score with a 95.3.
Marion also swept the category awards, winning trophies for Best Music, Best Visual, and Best General Effect. Senior drum major Kaden Littlejohn was also named the event’s best drum major.
Next up for the Patriot Pride will be the A-State Open this Saturday at Centennial Bank Stadium in Jonesboro. Marion will perform at 8 p.m. in the largest classification.
