Jubilation Jazz

The Marion High School Jazz Band will join forces with the ever-popular Jubilation Jazz Band in a free concert Saturday, April 13, at 6 p.m. at the Marion Performing Arts Center.

This will be an evening showcasing the talents of both bands presenting arrangements of jazz classics and many special renditions of local favorites.

Jubilation Jazz is directed by Marion’s own Wally Fowler. The band plays more than 75 concerts a year all over the Midsouth. Their repertoire ranges from big band standards to Elvis classics.

The Marion High School Jazz Band will showcase the largest number of All-Region Jazz Band students in the history of Marion High School. This also marks the first live jazz concert at Marion High School in over five years.

“We hope the Marion community will come out and hear these great bands,” said Marion Director of Bands Monty Hill. “The opportunity for our outstanding students to share the stage with such a terrific professional ensemble such as Jubilation Jazz, is truly a great experience.”
