The 2025 Hooten's Arkansas Football magazine hit the newsstands over the weekend, and the crack staff of the nation's largest preseason football publication is high on the 2025 Marion Patriots.
Conference coaches picked the Patriots third out of eight teams in the 6A East in the preseason, and Marion earned a No. 4 ranking in the preseason Top 10.
Two-time defending 6A East champion Benton was picked first in the 6A East, followed by Little Rock Catholic.
Defending state champion Greenwood earned the preseason No. 1 ranking, followed by 6A West rival and last year's state runner-up Shiloh Christian, while Benton claimed the No. 3 spot in the preseason Top 10.
Marion (7-4 in 2024) returns 14 starters for 2025, and the Patriots have averaged more than seven wins per season over the past four years.
The Patriots open their 2025 season on Friday, August 22, with their annual benefit scrimmage against Valley View at home, followed by the official season-opener on August 29 at home against Wynne.
