Band at State

The Marion Patriot Pride Band concluded its 2023 marching season Wednesday at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock by earning a First Division Rating at the State Marching Contest for the first time in school history. The band also earned sixth place overall in Class 6A.

“This was an incredible achievement, and I am so proud of our students,” said Marion Director of Bands Monty Hill. “Making a First Division at State was our number one goal this season. Our students have been inspiring and performed straight from the heart at War Memorial Stadium in front of an amazing crowd.”

This season has seen tremendous growth in the Marion Patriot Pride Band, with 160 members performing. Other accomplishments by the band this season include:

  • Grand Champions -- Mid-South Marching Invitational
  • Finalist, fourth overall -- Gibson County Marching Invitational
  • Third place overall -- Paragould Marching Invitational
  • First Division (fourth consecutive) -- ASBOA Region Marching Assessment

The band will perform its competition show, entitled "Teased," for the final time on Friday night (Nov. 3), when Marion celebrates Senior Night during the Marion vs. Little Rock Catholic football game. Pre-game activities begin at 6:25 p.m., with kickoff set for 7 p.m.
