MHS Parent Update for January ... Please read!

Congrats to MHS Spanish Club, sponsored by Mrs. Scott and Mrs. Jamison, for winning most creative in the Marion Christmas Parade.

Keeping with the spirit of the holiday season, the MHS Softball team collected items for CASA.

The MHS Quiz Bowl team was able to take six students to the AGQBA Sr. High Quiz Bowl Camp in Ferndale this year. Last week, MHS students visited the University of Central Arkansas (UCA) for Bear Facts Day. Students were able to tour campus, attend breakout sessions about resources such as financial aid, housing, academic departments, and other support services. Thank you, Ms. Elliott and Ms. Gonzalez, for sharing this preview day with our students.

Today is Substitute Educators Day. MHS would like to say thank you to all of our amazing substitute teachers who are always available when we need them: Ashley Buie, Jessie Clay, Susan Davis, Quentin Dixon, Darla Freeman, Grey Fenter, Kimberly Hutchins, Edna McGregory, Jack Murphy, and Elnora Simpson.

Today, Coach Marissa Selden's Food Safety and Fitness Nutrition classes made breakfast which consisted of waffles, pancakes, and bacon. What a delicious learning experience!







HOSA is having a canned food drive competition from now through December 5th. The advisory group which collects the most cans will have a surprise reward for their group from HOSA! HOSA students will come around and collect cans on the 5th during 4th period. Thank you all! (One more week 🤸)

This week MHS students had a chance to learn about Crowley's Ridge College and visit with Steven DeWitt, a representative from CRC.

The AR Army National Guard Experience!
This event will be held at Marion High School this year on Wednesday, November 19th, 2025. We'd like to take at least 150 students to this event. If you are interested in learning more about the Army National Guard and the benefits of being in the guard sign up. The first 150 will be the only people taken to the event. Your classes will be excused for the time we are there. This event is a full experience event, and you will have time to get all of your questions answered. Lunch is provided.
