Everything’s coming up roses for the Patriot Pride Marching Band this fall as the award-winning ensemble prepares to kick off its 2026 competitive season.
This year’s production is titled “La Vie en Rose” and will feature a heavy emphasis on the visual and musical symbolism of roses and the color red.
The band will play at each Patriot home football game, as well as the following contests:
- Sept. 26: Conquistador Classic in Olive Branch, Miss.
- Oct. 10: Power Band Classic at Lake Hamilton
- Oct. 17: McDonald’s Marching Invitational in Paragould
- Oct. 20: ASBOA Region Marching Contest in Cabot
- Oct. 24: Eastern Shore Classic in Daphne, Ala.
- Nov. 2-4: 6A State Marching Contest at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock

Operated through the Marion High School Business Marketing Department, The M will function as a hands-on retail learning environment designed to provide students with authentic experience in creating and designing school-branded merchandise, as well as marketing, advertising, merchandising, customer service, inventory management, and business operations.

Today, Mrs. White's and Ms. Selden's Nutrition and Culinary classes got a chance to visit with Airman Caples and TSgt. Giordano from the Airforce. Airman Caples who is in the culinary field helped students understand that Nutrition and Culinary is just important in the military as any other field. Our Pre-Educator Pathway students recently welcomed Morgan Chrestman from the Crittenden County Cooperative Extension to learn about our local farmers market and the important role it plays in strengthening our county.

It's blood drive day at MHS! We had over 95 students and faculty members at the first blood drive of this school year. We were able to use 42 donations of blood thereby saving countless potential lives. These drives are especially important to Crittenden County because of our blood shortage. Hats off to Ms. Castle and Vitalant for another successful event. Our next blood drive is January 14, 2027.
Ms. Selden’s Culinary 1 students became familiar with their classroom kitchens while making Oreo, key lime, and Kool-Aid no-bake pies. They practiced locating equipment, using the correct measuring tools, following directions, and working together in their kitchen groups. Tomorrow comes the most important step in the recipe—taste testing!

Yesterday was Coach Johnson's Neuro Flex Day. A day for MHS girls’ basketball players to put their strategic thinking skills to work—using board games and activities to sharpen decision-making, teamwork, and problem-solving skills that translate directly to the court! Coach White’s Food Safety and Nutrition classes participated in a Glo-Germ activity after learning proper handwashing techniques. The simulated germ lotion lights up white under a black light. Participants learned how many “germs” were still left after proper handwashing steps were followed, when plenty of “germs” remained. This helped solidify how bare hand contact with foods is against the FDA Food Code and why we should wash very well AND wear gloves.
