Marion High School AWARE Counselor, Mrs. Jasmine Peel, launches the “Being Present Matters” campaign. The campaign highlights the myriads of reasons students are absent from school and how to remove those barriers. With the collaborative efforts of parents, educators, and CIS site coordinators, we can keep a kid in school, prepare them for life.

Ms. Taylor Starkey recently conducted a Soil Lab with her RTI students who signed up to support their in-class learning about how soils impact our world by investigating the properties of a local soil. They determined the soil texture class by feel as well as assigned a color value using a soil color book.
This past holiday season MHS Patriot Art Department raised money for the Marion Animal Shelter by painting and selling ornaments and donating 100% of the money. Thank you to all who supported Mrs. Miranda Rippard and the MHS Art Department with this project.
Congratulations to Mrs. Patti Castle for her award as Blood Drive Coordinator of the Year. Mrs. Castle's donation efforts were among the highest in the Tri-State area with enough to potentially save over 160 lives. Big thanks to Mrs. Castle and to all blood donors! Awesome job!

MHS Career coaches are hosting a college visit for to the University of Central Arkansas (UCA). Seniors, make sure you are on time at 8AM in the career coaches' office on Friday, Jan. 24th. Departure time is 8:15 a.m. and return time is 2:30 p.m.
MHS is partnering with Vitalant (formerly known as Lifeblood) for blood drive donations this Friday, Jan. 24th from 9AM to 1:45PM in the Med-Pro room located in the Humanities building on MHS campus. This drive is only for students and school employees. Come help save lives!

Congratulations to MHS Band members for not only making the All-Region Band, but also setting a record at MHS for having the most members to ever do so (57). These students will be participating in the All-Region Band Clinic in Searcy, Arkansas on Friday, January 24, 2025.

Big thanks to Crittenden County 4-H agent Ali Salisbury for all of the exciting opportunities that have been offered to MHS students this school year. These students have 7-45 book circulations, with McKenzie Beith coming in second at 22 book circulations and Joshua Williams coming in first at 45.
