Marching into Spring... This month's Teacher of the Month goes to Crystal Smith. Mrs. Smith shows true dedication to our students and to our school. She shows genuine concern for her students and goes the extra mile to ensure they have all that they need to be successful. Help me in congratulating Mrs. Smith on being such a great asset to our school.
On Monday, March 11 the Marion Band Program set another school record by having 4 bands earn the Arkansas School and Band Orchestra Sweepstakes Award, in the Region IV Concert Assessment held at West Memphis High School. This included the Marion Junior High 8th Grade Symphonic Band, the Marion High School Wind Symphony, Symphonic Band and Concert Band.
Bands are adjudicated by four judges for concert performance and sight reading and are assigned rating from I (superior), II (excellent), III (Good), IV (Average) and V (poor). All four Marion Band earned straight first division ratings and set the standard for the entire Concert Assessment.
The Marion Band will be featured in concert on April 23 for MHS and April 30 for MJHS. All concerts begin at 6:30 pm in the Marion performing Arts Center and admission is free.
