Willie Rogers served as assistant principal at Marion Junior High School twice during his lengthy career in Marion, with a stint at Marion Middle School as well.
Assistant principals often delve into tedious areas such as teacher duties, student discipline, and other cumbersome tasks. No matter the day or the season, Willie Rogers made working at Marion Junior High School enjoyable through his kind words, uplifting jokes, willingness to do anything in support of his teachers and fellow administrators, and his quick wit.
Mr. Rogers was always at school early and always one of the last to leave. He never met a stranger, and all students and staff alike, knew they were loved. Quick to whip up a delicious fish fry or come support a teacher, always willing to pose for a humorous photo or even prank a coworker, Willie Rogers was a one-of-a-kind and led with a servant's heart. Those who worked with him and served with him from Marion Schools will always have a special place for Mr. Rogers in our hearts. We know he's in Heaven hosting a fish-fry and sharing jokes with friends and family, while serving as a guardian angel to those of us left behind.

MJHS student Jay Evans created a unique science poster for Mr. Skaggs. It is a cool thing when we can hang educational posters in our classrooms that our own students created.
