On Thursday, History Club students explored downtown Marion. Students started by receiving a tour of the Marion Courthouse by our very own Crittenden County Judge, Woody Wheeless. They learned all about our local government and how much happens daily at the courthouse. Also, students recently learned about the Civil War in Arkansas, so exploring the Sultana Disaster Museum was the next stop. These 7th graders learned about the Sultana disaster and how Lincoln's assassination & the capture of John Wilkes Booth overshadowed the local event.

Director of Planning & Operations for the Sultana Disaster Museum, Melody Walker, came and spoke to 7th grade History Club students On Friday. Walker is also a former Arkansas History teacher for the Marion School District. Thanks to her visit, students learned more about the Sultana disaster and plan on visiting the museum next week.
Patriot Volleyball wanted to help the Wynne Volleyball girls who lost everything during the recent tornado. Coach Beasley will be delivering clothing, shoes, gift cards, and cash this weekend. It won't replace everything they lost but hoping to give them a start.
Mrs. Proffitt’s 7th grade art students are working on drawings for the Sultana Disaster Museum’s art contest.

Today in Coach Neeley’s Social Studies class students re-enacted Battles from the Civil War. They did line formations and a catapult contest. ☀️

Miss Pitts 7th grade drama students are presenting Broadway Production Slide Shows. These students are pulling out all the stops with their research. They are researching ticket costs, production , cast information and a synopsis of the show. So much goes on behind the scenes in a Broadway production and these students students are learning all about it.
